Wisesa was born (1970) in a jungle village in Sumatra. In the village where he grew up were a number of hunters. These hunters would bring back whatever they caught. These included exotic birds, civet cats, leopards and even tiger cubs. Wisesa played with and drew pictures of these birds and animals every day.

He spent 12 years learning painting at sanggar rawo under "Lukisan National" M. Yatim who taught him everything he need to know about techniques, brush strokes, colour, light, details etc.
